Annandale: Located in northeastern Fairfax County, this city was originally settled in the 1760s as a trading post. The town was known as Ravensworth until 1830, when it was renamed after the Scottish village located at the mouth of the Annan River. It is strategically located at the junction of several roads that connect western Fairfax County with Arlington and Alexandria.
